Wetland Scientist, Permit Specialist and Inspector

Nicole Ashford is an Associate Project Manager and Project Scientist at Flycatcher LLC, bringing 8 years of experience in environmental consulting. After graduating from the University of Maine with a BS in Ecology and Environmental Science, Nicole gained extensive experience in natural resource delineations, environmental permitting, Phase I ESAs and water quality monitoring projects across the State of Maine.

Currently Nicole is responsible for conducting natural resource assessments including wetland and watercourse delineations, vernal pool surveys, function and value assessments; rare, threatened, and endangered species surveys; wildlife habitat and natural community assessments; and assisting clients in the preparation of federal and state permit applications. Nicole also has experience in environmental monitoring for construction compliance working as an inspector during the construction and restoration of several wind, solar and transmission line projects.

When not at work, Nicole is likely spending time outdoors whether it’s hunting, camping, boating, golfing, or scouting the forest with her husband and their black lab, Layla. Nicole and her family share the same passion for Maine’s aesthetic value and enjoy exploring it together.
