Rich Jordan (SPWS)
President/Founder
Rich Jordan is the Founder and President of Flycatcher LLC, an environmental and land use consulting firm serving Maine and the northeastern U.S. With more than 20 years of experience, Rich is recognized for his expertise in permit execution, development strategy, and natural resource science. He combines technical knowledge with strong communication skills and trusted relationships to help good projects succeed.
Rich has led large-scale commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments; designed and permitted wetland and natural resource creation and mitigation projects; and overseen construction and compliance for diverse project types. His deep understanding of energy policy and infrastructure spans generation, transmission, and storage. As both a private developer and consultant, Rich has originated and supported dozens of commercial solar projects across Maine and New England and is currently advancing renewable energy projects in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.
Rich founded Flycatcher in 2019 after more than 15 years working with small and large consulting and engineering firms. Those early experiences shaped his vision for an entrepreneurial firm, free from the bureaucracy of larger organizations -- a place where talented professionals collaborate, learn, and grow while working on projects that matter to their communities. Today, Rich is proud to see Flycatcher as a firm which achieves those goals.
Rich is a Senior Professional Wetland Scientist (#1517) and a Maine DEP-certified contractor in erosion and sediment control (#1291). A native Mainer, he earned his degree in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Southern Maine. He lives in Falmouth with his wife, two kids, some chickens, and an elderly pug named Fred. True to his motto -- “never all business, always some business” -- Rich blends work with lifelong passions including snowboarding, fishing, hunting, hiking, birding, mountain biking, and travel.
