Wetland Scientist, Biologist and Environmental Inspector
Rue Thurrell is a Wetland Scientist and Biologist Flycatcher LLC, specializing in wetland delineations, vernal pool monitoring, and rare and endangered plant and wildlife surveys. Rue has extensive experience with wetland and saltmarsh restoration projects, raptor surveys, wildlife habitat surveys, invasive species monitoring and restoration, water quality monitoring, and as an environmental inspector supporting construction oversight and permit compliance. Rue holds an M.S. and B.S. in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Southern Maine. Rue’s graduate research focused on the effect of anadromous fish on lake phosphorus budgets and her undergraduate research focused on salt marsh vegetation response to a restored tidal regime.
Rue is a Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certified by the Society of Wetland Scientists, a New Hampshire Certified Wetland Scientist, and a Maine Department of Environmental Protection Third-Party Inspector.
Outside of work Rue enjoys mountain biking, hiking, water color painting, and woodworking.
